We are praying for Rev. Jackson, for his healing and recuperation. Praying for strength for sister Carmen and the entire Jackson family. 

We are praying a special prayer for 3 month old Amari Dinkins, daughter of Chris Dinkins, grand daughter of Shannon and Great granddaughter of LaJuana Celestine.  Praying for Gods healing power .  

We continue to pray for Doris Houston, the grandmother of Brittney and Devin Houston.  Praying for Brother Cowan who has suffered a  stroke and praying for sister Louise , who is having health issues.

We continue to pray for Sister Vicky Walker and  her mom Erma Howard , who is struggling with pain . 

We continue to  pray for Andre Francisco, who is in a rehabilitation facility. Praying for  Teresa and Adam’s strength and health as well.   Praying for Ron Magnus, OU friend of Carmen’s who is praying for a kidney donor.

 Praying for Sister Kim Smith’s mom, Josephine McCleary,   sister Brittney  Hadley  and   Elaine Johnson , who are all fighting breast cancer. 

Praying for all our members that are taking care of their loved ones.  

We are  continuing to pray for all our members who are mourning and grieving and those who are just going through their own personal storms.

Save the Dates: 

*Special Easter Offering March 24 & March 31, 2024 which is Easter Morning. This special offering supports the General Church ministries of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. These Ministries include, Health and social services; Mental Health resources; New Congregations; hospital and military chaplains; Stewardship Education; Global Mission effected by conflict and climate change; General Assembles opportunities and so much more.  

*Sister Rosa did not do breakfast this morning because he will be serving breakfast for Easter. She will return to her first and third Sunday breakfast in April.

*Elder Edmund Clegg, our board chair,   has posted  sign up sheets in the fellowship hall for Pastor Appreciation and Church Anniversary committees. If you are interested in serving on either of these committees please sign up. Erica Harris has volunteered to chair the church Anniversary Committee.  Pastor Appreciation is the 2nd Sunday in October and Our Church Anniversary celebration will be the first Sunday in November. 

*Disciple Women’s “Roses Interregional Gathering” will be held June 28-29, 2024 in McKinney, Texas , which is just over the boarder. Marilyn Bohlender is providing  applications for Scholarships to cover registration. The deadline for the scholarships is April 29, 2024. if you are interested in attending please reach out to sister Sheila Jones or Minister Stephanie Ustinov. 

*March Gladness- DMF  hosted  their annual March gladness fellowship. yesterday. Thank you to all who came out to support our men of the church. the food and fellowship is always delicious and spirited fun.  

We want to thank those of you have accepted our request for serving on the church Security team,  assistance in helping us to keep our Church safe.

We will still looking for people to Join sister Karrie Harris, to work on our new Greeters team. We truly hope and pray that you will consider sharing your gifts with Gods  church family here at ESSCC. We need your help!  

*Children’s Choir rehearsed yesterday with sister Chequita. Final choir rehearsal will be right before the Easter Egg hunt on March 30. Rehearsal will begin at 11am. 

The Holy Week Schedule has been posted on the website for your convenience. Holy Week this year will be March 24-31. Please review the schedule  and place all of the dates on your calendar. 

*Palm Sunday- is this Sunday, March 24, 2024 please have the children at church by   (9:45 am ) so that they get the Palm branches and get in line for the  Reenactment of Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem which was one week before his crucifixion.  Palm branches will be given out to everyone to waive from your seats in celebration. 

*Mid Week Holy  Service-  Wednesday March 27, 2024.  This year we will worship with Our sister Church,  Shepherd Street in Chickasha, ok at 7pm. Our choir will provide A&B selection and Pastor Jackson will bring the message. Please plan to attend and give your support,  as we bring the service in Chickasha. The church van will be available for those who don’t drive at night or drive long distances.   

* Maundy Thursday- Last Supper Reenactment-Dinner March 28, 2024 7pm.  Each year we have a reenactment of the Lords supper with Dinner and reader Theatre. During the meal , members will read their assigned reading , while sitting at the table during the meal.  If you are willing and would like to be a reader please contact Deacon Dena Plunkett.  

*Good Friday service will be March 29, 2024 at 7 pm. Our older children/teens ( 11 years and older)  and adults will be presenting “Stations of the Cross“. Please contact Minister Stephanie Parker if you would like to participate in Our good Friday Service.  

*A Candlelight Memorial will also be held during Good Friday Service.  At this time you will be invited to the mic, to say the name of your loved ones out loud and place your battery operated candle on the cross. 

*Easter Lily-If you would like to bring an Easter Lilly  to be placed at the alter , in tribute to a Loved One,  please see sister Carmen Jackson who is creating the Memorial List that will be posted in the Easter bulletin. All Lilies will be tagged and return to owners after Easter Sunday Service.

*Easter Lily Tribute List- Please limit the number of Tribute names to two lines.  We ask that you bring you Lilly(s)  on Friday so that I can put your names on your Lilly plant(s), to be returned to you after Easter Service.    All names must be presented no later than Wednesday , March 27, 2024  to be included on the Easter Program Bulletin. This is the night of our Mid week service in Chickasha.

*Easter Egg Hunt /Church Cookout Washington Park – March 30, 2024  11-1pm . Brother Don Reaves will be selling hot links and smoked sausage for Pastor’s  Appreciation fundraiser.  $3 each or or 2 for $5.  We thank our ushers for stepping up once again and organizing our Easter Egg hunt for the children. This year,  they are asking that everyone please bring your Easter eggs already filled with the candy( no real eggs) . That will greatly help them to get the eggs hidden in the park. Last year, we had people bringing  candy and empty eggs at last minute and they were sitting in the park trying to fill the eggs and help kids  hunt eggs all at same time. 

*Easter Sunday Morning- March 31, 2024 9am.   Breakfast will be provided by Sister Rosa, so get our children dressed in their Easter Outfits, and come let church breakfast get you to church early,   for our Sunday school program which start at 9:30

*Sunday School Easter Play -“Rise Up with Jesus” from our children Pre-K to 4th grade(10 years old). Parts were given out this morning. Please see sister Paula  Francisco , if you have any questions or need a  part for your child/grandchild. Practices will be each Sunday during children church upstairs. Please make extra effort to get them to church so they can practice.

We are looking forward to a spirit filled week of remembrance and celebration of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. 

May we All continue to seek and pursue Jesus in 2024,  with a renewed sense of connection .  Let us increase our level of commitment to his service and step out to do Gods work for our church and community   in love.

  •  STANDING ANNOUNCEMENTS (Don’t Announce to read only)

  • First Sunday Breakfast and T-shirt Sunday has been extended to include 3rd Sunday. Thank you sister Rosa

  • In-person Bible Study here in the fellowship hall at each Wednesday Night 7pm.  First and third Wednesday Night,  sister Rosa will be preparing dinner at 6:30pm before Bible Study.

    We will continue to  be on Facebook Live and on Zoom. We are still needing  someone to volunteer to take over this duty . See Pastor Jackson if you are interested.

  • The Wellness Nutrition class  provides  presentations on nutritional information and  how to incorporate that information into meal planning.   For future presentations , we will discuss specific impact of various foods on the body and include recipes with food tasting.    Lakeshia  will be holding another demonstration on Saturday’s ,   following the tai chi class at 11am.  
  • Birthday Month Ministry

    Thank you to everyone who have completed their Birthday Month Ministry Cards. We have placed a list of all members who have turned in a card on the bulletin board in the fellowship Hall. Please check out the list to see if your name is on the list. If your name is not on the list please complete a card that is provided and place it in the basket.

    We are so excited to have so many people already signed up and thank you for participating. STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE MINISTRY START UP process.

    Sister Cynthia Clegg is teaching a Tai Chi class each Saturday from 10-11 am in the fellowship hall. The Program is designed for Older Adults. See the flier on the website for program description. Contact Cynthia Clegg if you are interested or have questions.
