  Pray for Sister Kathi Hughes and the entire Hughes family, for the loss of  Brother George Hughes. His funeral will be next Saturday , December 27 at 11am here at ESSCC.  Pray for Sister Janita Blair who lost her sister-in-law Pam Lornes. Praying for her brother Ronald and the entire family. Praying for Sister Carla Burdine as she recovers from surgery, spoke to her last night and  she says she is feeling much better.  Pray for Brother Chico for healing after his procedure.  Pray for all our members fighting cancer: Anceo Francisco, Carla Burdine, Brittney Hadley, Gail Hadley, Josephine McCleary, mother to sister Kim Smith, and her sister Deborah McCleary. Pray for Sister Shirley Burton, Kamaree Clegg & family,  and Cowen family. Praying for all those with financial needs due to the economy,  furloughs, layoffs  or suffering from  new policy cuts to services. Praying for all the victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Haiti, and other places.

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Memorial Service for Brother George Hughes will be next Saturday , December 27 at 11am here at ESSCC.  We are expecting a large crowd, so please come out and help us show service and love to Cathi Hughes and the entire  family. Repast for the family will follow immediately after service in the fellowship hall. The Hughes have a large family, any help you can give will be appreciated.      

ESSCC Food Pantry

Sister  Tina and Sister Gloria are available after church each Sunday for anyone in need of food items .  

Disciple Women’s Fellowship

We are still  collecting coats for the homeless and working poor, all sizes are needed. Men and women sizes are the priority. They will be give out by Naomi Jackson  at the North Care Community Health Center. Leave the coats in the box in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you!

Reminder

First Sunday Breakfast and T-shirt and Wednesday Night Bible Study Dinner  is provided on the 1st and 3rd Sunday  morning and Wednesday night ,  respectively. Thank you Sister Rosa!

Don’t forget that we will NOT  have Wednesday Night Bible Study on Christmas Eve AND New Years Eve.

Save the Date 2026 Events 

January 4th, 2026 we will have another Baptism celebration here at ESSCC. Join us as we welcome our young people into Gods family, and Sister Vicki and Sister Rosa rededication/baptism. Come on time, baptisms are at the beginning of the 10am service. Dinner will be held for the church immediately following worship , provided by the Jones family. Come on back and join in the fellowship, as they celebrate their young peoples baptism. 

DWF Brunch

Disciple Women’s Fellowship will have a potluck meal on January 10th, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Please see Lakeshia and Kim to see about signing up for a dish. All women are invited to Join us. Let’s kick off 2026 with sisterly prayer, support, service  and fellowship.

ESSCC Food Pantry

As you are aware, people are struggling. We would like to help our members and the community through our  ESCCC food pantry ministry. We are in  need of donations  to rebuild our pantry and freezer items. If you have non perishable items or freezer vegetables  please bring them and leave in the kitchen for sister Tina and Gloria . They will be available after church each Sunday for anyone in need of food items .  If you are aware of people in the community who may need help, have them reach out to sister  Tina so she can make arrangements  to meet them at the church.  Please pray for all of those in need during this difficult time. Thank you for any help you can give.

Disciple women’s fellowship

Sister LaKeisha Lewis is our Chairperson and sister Kim Smith is our assistant Chairperson of ESSCC Disciples Women Fellowship. Sister Karrie Harris is our  treasurer and her assistant treasurer is Sister Sheila  Jones. Cynthia Clegg has agreed to be our DWF secretary .  Brittney  Houston and Michell Eike have agreed to be communication coordinators.

Children’ s Church

We have two group of children for Sunday Children’s Church. PreK- 3rd grade and 4th grade through 6th grade. (12 years and under)- we will not be working with toddlers at this time.   We will ask one Teen to help with the younger class each Sunday.

We will continue to  be on Facebook Live. We are still needing  someone to volunteer to coordinate Zoom for  Wednesday Night Bible Study . See Pastor Jackson if you are interested.
