  Pray for Sister Gloria Carter, who lost her oldest son, Ronnie Johnson.  We continue to pray  for Sister Kathi Hughes and the entire Hughes family.  Praying for all our members fighting cancer: Anceo Francisco, Carla Burdine, Brittney Hadley, Gail Hadley, Josephine McCleary, mother to sister Kim Smith, and her sister Deborah McCleary. Pray for Sister Shirley Burton, Kamaree Clegg & family,  and Cowen family. Praying for all those with financial needs due to the economy,  furloughs, layoffs  or suffering from  new policy cuts to services. Praying for all the victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Haiti, and other places.

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Pray for Sister Gloria Carter, who lost her oldest son, Ronnie Johnson. The viewing will be held today at  Temple & Son funeral home.  The funeral will be held Monday, June 5,  11am at the Temple Funeral Home  Chapel.  Gloria  apologizes for not getting back with everyone but she has been overwhelmed with people reaching out. She sends her love, an  appreciates all the calls and prayers.  Please keep Gloria and the Johnson family in your prayers.

Kwanzaa 

Our Youth Kwanzaa table display and celebration will take place on a Sunday in February. Special thank you to Rev. Billingslea and Carol Mosley for the delicious food/pie for Kwanzaa last Sunday. 

Baptismal Service

 Baptism celebration here at ESSCC. Join us for dinner immediately after service  today, as we  welcome our young people, Tonie & Bennie Jones and Layla Hadley into Gods family, and Sister Vicki and Sister Rosa rededication/baptism. The celebration meal is being  provided by the  Jones /Cooper family. Special thank you to their grandmother, Adrienne Cooper  for sharing this special meal with us all. 

ESSCC Food Pantry

Sister  Tina and Sister Gloria are available after church each Sunday for anyone in need of food items .  

Disciple Women’s Fellowship

We are still  collecting coats for the homeless and working poor, all sizes are needed. Men and women sizes are the priority. They will be give out by Naomi Jackson  at the North Care Community Health Center. Leave the coats in the box in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you!

Disciple Women’s Fellowship will have a potluck meal next Saturday, January 10th, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Please see Lakeshia and Kim to see about signing up for a dish. All women are invited to Join us. Let’s kick off 2026 with sisterly prayer, support, service  and fellowship.

Reminder

First Sunday Breakfast and T-shirt and Wednesday Night Bible Study Dinner  is provided on the 1st and 3rd Sunday  morning and Wednesday night ,  respectively. Thank you Sister Rosa!

 Wednesday Night Bible Study will resume this week at 7pm. Lets make a commitment to study Gods word in 2026.

Save the date for this spirit filled worship opportunity – June 11-14, 2026 in Dallas, Texas. Stay Tuned. We hope to take a bus from Oklahoma .

ESSCC Food Pantry

We are in  need of donations  to rebuild our pantry and freezer items. If you have non perishable items or freezer vegetables, please bring them and leave in the kitchen for sister Tina and Gloria . They will be available after church each Sunday for anyone in need of food items .  If you are aware of people in the community who may need help, have them reach out to sister  Tina so she can make arrangements  to meet them at the church.  Please pray for all of those in need during this difficult time. Thank you for any help you can give.

Disciple women’s fellowship

Sister LaKeisha Lewis is our Chairperson and sister Kim Smith is our assistant Chairperson of ESSCC Disciples Women Fellowship. Sister Karrie Harris is our  treasurer and her assistant treasurer is Sister Sheila  Jones. Cynthia Clegg has agreed to be our DWF secretary .  Brittney  Houston and Michell Eike have agreed to be communication coordinators.

Children’ s Church

We have two group of children for Sunday Children’s Church. PreK- 3rd grade and 4th grade through 6th grade. (12 years and under)- we will not be working with toddlers at this time.   We will ask one Teen to help with the younger class each Sunday.

We will continue to  be on Facebook Live. We are still needing  someone to volunteer to coordinate Zoom for  Wednesday Night Bible Study . See Pastor Jackson if you are interested.
